Check out my go to list of what I bring with me to each wedding day as a wedding photographer. Besides the essential camera gear, there are other things that I bring with me! From hydration to first aid kit! You honestly never know when you will need any of these things, I am always about being prepared!

List Of Wedding Day Essentials for Wedding Photographers:

  • Sunscreen: its important to protect your skin and to prevent heat stroke and exhaustion. I always carry Supergoop because it goes on nice and clear, I don't have to worry about white sunscreen lotion on my face. Also for the rest of my body I'll use sheer sunscreen that goes on clear.

  • Loop Ear Plugs: I typically wear these for receptions, hearing protection is super important! I can still hear if someone is talking to me super close, and if not I can easily take one out. Also it comes with a case that I strap on to my camera harness so I don't forget to bring it with me to events!

  • Fanny Pack: I always wear one when I am shooting events! I typically put a few camera and flash batteries, SD cards, Chapstick and Band-Aids in it. This way I don't have to carry a large camera bag on my back all day as well!

  • For My Camera: I like to keep my lens super clean! I'll bring a blower to get rid of any tiny dust, as well as lens wipes and microfiber eyeglass cleaner! I typically keep these in my camera bag. But if it's been raining I'll throw a cloth and a lens wipe in my fanny pack.

  • For Those Just In Case Moments: This is really helpful to the bridal party or to anyone that needs it! A sewing kit, safety pins and bobby pins! I've seen so many groomsmen have a button fall off of their vest right when they put it on, honestly it's nothing that they've done! Sometimes the rental company forgets to check to see if the buttons are firmly attached to the suit! You honestly cannot be over prepared.

  • Flat Lay Kit: I keep my flat lay kit in a makeup travel case to keep things organized! I'll have a few different options for ring boxes, ribbons and a dish tray. I don't use a flat lay back drop as I can typically work with what's in the room! A hard wood floor is great or my personal favorite is a leather surface, whether its a chair or a bench!

  • Hydration Is Key: You really need to start hydrating the day before shooting a wedding to avoid getting heat sick, I will typically bring water with me and bring a few Liquid I.V. sticks with me just in case. Staying hydrated is super important! Always bring a water bottle with you and some extra bottles in a lunch box just in case the reception area isn't open for you to get water before the ceremony.

I really hope that this list helps! Honestly you cannot be over prepared for a wedding day! If you want to check out my other lists or recommendations, check out my Amazon Storefront!
